I know a lot of people are unsure of whether MacRiley will happen now because apparently they think they've 'friend zoned' each other??
I AM HERE TO TELL YOU...ABSOLUTELY NOT! They have NOT friend zoned each other at all.

Mac said he thought there was no possibility of a relationship but finding out about Riley's feelings changed everything!
Riley now knows Mac wanted a relationship at some point but since he's still with Desi she lied (or she's in deep denial).
I am not delusional dont worry.
If you see she gave him all the reasons she lied about her feelings:
- if they date things might get complicated at Phoenix
- She THINKS he's happy with Desi (shes never seen the fights or the toxicity so she has NO IDEA)
-Their friendship is too important.

Mac said I guess we should close the door(NOT PUT THE WALL BACK UP btw). He doesnt ACTUALLY want to. His face showed pure disappointment.
He has always wanted to be with Riley..from the very beginning.
Now he needs to make the first move because Riley won't.
She refuses to be the person who comes in between him and Desi.(and I'm so damn proud of her for it!)

Now here's what I think happens in the next few episodes:
Mac is taking the so called "baby steps" with Desi. But through out the whole thing he won't be able to stop thinking about Riley. Their hug in 5x11 if you noticed was short. Almost as if they realised how intimate it was. Things will change now. There will be a lot of ANGST and TENSION. (all good ofcourse)
Riley will start realising she still feels the pain of seeing him and Desi together which means she isnt over him yet.

I am expecting the MacDesi break up by 5x14 or latest 5x15. I dont think they survive this season so lets see!
