Alberta Election 2019: United Conservative Party wins majority government

Albertans are expected to give Jason Kenney and the United Conservative Party an overwhelming mandate to scrap the carbon tax and usher in a new era of fiscal conservatism as Global News projects the party will be handed a majority government in Tuesday’s provincial election.

A projected UCP victory is impressive given that the party is not even two years old and led by Kenney, a politician who may have years of experience governing in Ottawa with the federal Tories, but was only elected as an MLA in Alberta four months ago.
