The system starts as product is carried into the robot work area via a conveyor. A vision system detects the location and orientation of the product, ensuring an accurate pick. Once located, a FANUC SR-6iA SCARA Robot accurately picks and orients the products both horizontally and vertically. FANUC’s SR Series SCARA Robots are ideal for applications such as this, where speed and precision are needed for maximum throughput. Next, FANUC’s M-20iB/25 robot picks and packs the product, accommodating both vertical and horizontal pack patterns.

The system features independent carts on a fully variable pitch that accelerate and decelerate for optimal efficiency and speed. Intelligent conveying supports thousands of products and pack configurations with the ability to perform changeovers quickly and efficiently. An easy-to-use, interactive HMI simplifies operation and equipment maintenance. The HMI also includes an icon-based conveyor map that indicates cart status and location.
