Ashland Railway switches Wilkins Air Force Specialized Depot : Great warehouse to model! ASRY 2023

Ashland Railway with ASRY 2023 switches the Central Ohio Industrial Park in Shelby Ohio. This site was built in 1943 as the Army Airforce Supply Depot for the WW2 effort. After the war it was renamed the Wilkins Air Force Specialized Depot and continued as a government site until closure in 1961. Now it hold many individual businesses on the 60 acre site in at least 16 large warehouses. The depot was served by both the New York Central and the B&O. Now only connection to the B&O remains which is now the Ashland Railway. About half the trackage remaining is abandoned / cut and paved over.

They only pulled 2 boxcars this time, switched out their outbound cars in the 3 track yard, picked up the rest of the train and headed north towards Plymouth.
