Landshut - 4k

Landshut (pronounced as [ˈlantshuːt]) is one of the largest Kreis in lower Bavaria state, Germany. It is situated across the river Isar.

The city is known for "Landshuter Hochzeit" (Landshut Wedding) commemorating the wedding of George and Hedwig, both from Royal families. The original medieval wedding is re-enacted every four years, and everyone gets carried away with medieval jousting, pageantry, feasting, and wedding processions for a short period in the summer.

The city is also of national importance because of its predominantly Gothic architecture within the historic town center, especially Trausnitz Castle and the Church of Saint Martin featuring the world's tallest brick tower.

BMW, Dräxlmaier Group, Deutsche Telekom, the two nuclear power plants helped Landshut become one of the richest industrialized cities in Germany.
