How to prepare for a tent fumigation

How to Prepare for a Termite Fumigation with the use of VIKANE

* Carefully read document prep sheets we have emailed to you with all fumigation disclosed documents.

* Remove anything that is ALIVE from the property.

* Remove all plants located in the home or porch locations and those under patios, screen enclosures, or on attached decks and balconies. All shrubbery and tree branches need to be trimmed back from touching the structure needing treatment by at least 18 inches. Treatment tarps from the tent need to fall freely to the ground without blockage of any sort. Fumigation Gas will kill living plants and grass in close proximity to the tents base. Thoroughly water the ground around shrubs and plants located adjacent to the structure to help assist the risk of damage .

* Remove or bag all human and pet food as well as medications that are not sealed in glass, plastic or metal bottles, jars, or cans with the original manufacturer's airtight seal intact. This includes items in the refrigerator and freezer, medicines, spices, and opened alcoholic beverages. Only special NYLOFUME® bags may be used for bagging.

* Keys must provided for access to all areas within the structure or attached exterior locations such as storage areas that are being fumigated. We recommend all vehicles be removed from the property. Remove any valuables or personal items you may not want technicians to see as it it is required for us to inspect cabinetry, safes, drawers etc. They must be left open and unlocked.

* Water and Electricity must remain on and available during the entire duration of the fumigation process. Turn off HVAC systems, exterior lights and home alarm systems. Fumigation licensed operator will turn these off when the time is ready.

* Imperial Pest Prevention technicians and its subcontractors providing the service are not allowed to turn off gas to any home that has the use of gas for stoves, appliances etc. In Florida, it is a requirement that an appropriate gas company provide this service prior to fumigation. Failure to have this done prior will result in fees and a rescheduling of your tent fumigation. We are also not legally allowed to turn gas back on after services.

* Remove all plastic and waterproof covers that may be equipped on any human, baby, and pet mattresses, box springs, and pillows. Leave all cabinets, drawers attic hatches etc. open. Be sure all windows and work areas are unobstructed as well.

* Remove all valuables from the property. A waiver will be signed that we can and will not be responsible for any loss or damages due to burglary or theft. If you have concerns you may let local police, friends, or family aware of your concerns so they may drive by and visibly look at your property. Remember, they will not be able to go in your home or structure that has been treated until it has been appropriately deemed clear by the licensed fumigator.
