World's Steepest Street, Incredible Organ Pipes Hike + Chinese Garden | DUNEDIN, New Zealand

This is the second of our two vlogs from Dunedin, and the final of our 7 part South Island NZ series. It was a day filled with incredible views and steep walks.

First stop was to the iconic and historic Dunedin Railway Station. A grand, eye-catching architectural landmark right in the heart of the city.

Only a short distance away was Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden. An incredibly authentic and traditional Chinese garden which was a real delight for us to visit. Dunedin is the sister city to Shanghai (where Peter was born) and we were thoroughly impressed by how authentic the garden was.

For lunch we went to Hungry Hobos which specialises in delicious toasted sandwiches and soups and is also home to the winner of the Great New Zealand Toastie Takeover.

With our bellies happily full, we headed over to walk up famous Baldwin Street, aka officially the world's steepest street as recognised by Guinness World Records.

Our final destination was the Organ Pipes Track at Mount Cargill Scenic Reserve. The steep walk eventually leads you to the base of the broken "organ pipes" which are columnar jointed basalt. An incredible volcanic rock formation of geological pillars that look hexagonal in shape. The scramble to the top lead to breathtaking panoramic views, well worth the steady climb.
