LIVE: Typhoon Bebinca, the most powerful storm in 75 years strikes Shanghai, How will China cope?

Bebinca, the 13th typhoon of this year, made landfall in Shanghai at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, according to the Shanghai meteorological observatory.

The typhoon, with the maximum wind force near its center reaching 42 meters per second, churned ashore at the Lingang area of Shanghai's Pudong District.

Bebinca is believed to be the strongest typhoon to land in Shanghai in over seven decades.
