Towngas is making significant strides in Hong Kong's hydrogen energy transition. The company has set up the city's first hydrogen extraction system, allowing hydrogen to be efficiently extracted from its gas network. This initiative aims to provide a cost-effective and safe hydrogen supply across Hong Kong, supporting the adoption of hydrogen energy.
Additionally, Towngas has partnered with Chi Shing (Hong Kong) Group to develop hydrogen power generation solutions, focusing on green construction sites and buildings. This collaboration aligns with Hong Kong's carbon reduction policies and promotes sustainable energy applications.
Towngas is also working with Veolia to launch Hong Kong’s first green hydrogen production project, utilizing biogas from landfills to generate hydrogen. This project is expected to produce 330 kg of hydrogen daily, enough to power several hydrogen buses.
