Kurt Cobain's Daughter lost her father's famous D-18E in a divorce settlement with Isaiah Silva in order to speed the process of the settlement up. All in all, this is about the worst of it for her as she made out pretty well otherwise.

Frances Bean Cobain is Kurt's Daughter, but she was only 1 at the time of his death and she isn't that big of a fan of his music. She has other tastes in music, but does appreciate her father's work. I don't know her personally, but from what I've read, she is confused by her father's popularity and why he is so celebrated when he left his family in the way that he did (suicide.)

It is sad to see this guitar leave the immediate family of Cobains, but I'm betting we will see it for sale at auction very soon!

With all this hub-bub about this guitar, I thought I would take the opportunity to explain the Martin D-18E. It is a fairly rare guitar on it's own. It is basically a D-18 that Martin made around 302 of them in 1959/60 that featured 2 dynasonic Dearmond pickups in it from the factory. The guitar had 2 tone controls, a single volume and a 3 way selector switch.

I'm guessing this model wasn't that popular before Kurt was seen playing it. Since then, the prices on these have been going up.

Would you rock this guitar or not? Would you consider buying this guitar if it came up for sale?

I would like to try one out - however, I think there is too much bad mojo behind this guitar to entice me to purchase it.
