The Nordhavn 60 Ginard is a spectacular boat with a great story behind her. Listen as Jeff and Steve D’Antonio discuss the unique and extensive refit route Ginard took to become the boat she is today. Jeff and Steve both have a history with Ginard – Jeff as a previous listing broker and Steve D’Antonio oversaw the refit that made Ginard… Better Than New!

Ginard was purchased by her current owners in April 2020 at the start of the lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic. She was located in Florida at the time, had been actively cruised and was in great condition. The survey revealed normal findings from Steve who prepared a list of recommendations in his report.

With their end goal in mind of 10 years of trouble-free cruising, the buyers retained marine consultant, Steve D’Antonio, to advise them on additional improvements, replacements and repairs that would take a good boat and make it a great boat to meet this goal. Steve made an initial list of his suggestions, which then grew to make every system onboard the best and most efficient version. Every single item that Steve recommended was done and validated.

For the next two years, Ginard was transformed at Philbrook’s Boatyard in Sidney, British Columbia. In a way, time stopped - she was completed as a 2013 model year, commissioned in mid 2014, but significantly restored by her current owners during the work period from 2020 through 2022, enough of a transformation to safely call her a 2013/2022.

During her time at Philbrook’s, Ginard was used lightly, reflected in her engine hours. A notable improvement mentioned in this video is the swim platform and bustle having been integrated into the hull. This replaced the original bolt on/mechanical attachment that exposed a defective seal. The new swim platform includes a Freeman hatch, bilge pump and fans for air circulation.

As Jeff and Steve discuss in this video, a refit of this magnitude is not common, and that makes Ginard a one-of-a-kind boat. The attention to detail with the combination of Steve D’Antonio and Philbrook’s Boatyard working together ensure that every improvement was well thought out and completed to the highest standards of quality.

• All navigation and communication electronics upgraded and replaced

• Major components rebuilt such as the Steel head crane, Tecma toilets, black water pumps, engine shaft seals, watermaker, windlass, etc.
• SidePower/Sleipner thrusters rebuilt with upgraded drive legs and remote control
• Diamond Seaglaze doors and windows refinished

• Smart plug shore power inlets and a new 80' Glendinning cord with remote control
