SolarEdge Not Reporting? Monitoring Stuck? - Alexa Skill Update

Is your SolarEdge not reporting or is your monitoring stuck?

We’ve added a feature to our SolarEdge Alexa skill where the skill will automatically detect if the data returned by SolarEdge is old, or stuck.

If your inverter stops updating for whatever reason, the SolarEdge user console doesn’t flag it and no alerts are sent. When you look at your dashboard, you see your solar information, but it all could be bogus because it hasn’t been updated for some reason.

SolarEdge apparently leaves it to you to determine if their data is hours, or days, old. Luckily, SolarEdge has a timestamp on the data. We now compare that timestamp to the user’s timezone. If it’s too old per our configuration setting, the skill will tell you when you ask for an update
