HOW TO MOVE TO THE BEACH 🌅- PORT BARTON PALAWAN 🇵🇭 LEAVING MY 9 TO 5!

Are you looking for a way on how to move to the beach and consiering leaving your 9 to 5? Wanting to relocate instead live in Palawan, Philippines?

Here I share with you how I got myself out of my corporate employment and set up a small lodging and accommodations business in a beach town in Palawan. There are many places that tourists can choose on where to stay in Palawan. But for myself, I found home in the small town of Port Barton, San Vicente Palawan, where Palawan becomes less touristy and more local. How to get to Port Barton? It's a short 3-hour ride from Puerto Princesa via van or bus. With minimal capital, I was able to start up my own business and land my dream job of living in the beach. I set our place up as an Airbnb so that tourists have a place where to stay at Port Barton. During the low season, I learned how to list our place in other booking platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Agoda.

I am not exactly retired but it's about seeking a lifestyle where you can work with less and have your needs to a minimal. Finding happiness beyond money has been my priority. Learning to work with less and but being happier can be achieved once you understand your priorities and perspectives I hope I can inspire others to do the same in channeling business endeavors. Business ideas can be big or small but what's important to me is the freedom and the financial independence that goes with it. Through all this, I was able to discover how to live in paradise.

While this venture marked my exit from the corporate world, it was a long process of setting up different income streams, saving, investing, winning, losing, and figuring out the right moves. If this is something that you would like to know more about, please let me know. I would love to get the conversation started on personal finance and tips on how we can all manage our finances as our own personal business. It was initially a dream on escaping my 9 to 5 and seeing videos on Port Barton by Lost LeBlanc. But setting my mind to it, all things are possible no matter how remote.

But where do we now stand amidst the travel restrictions that COVID19 has brought upon? The truth is, we don't know yet what's in store for us with tourism facing a slow down globally. We are however hopeful and trusting that it will all eventually work out and that travel will return sooner or later. What does mean in terms of my financial freedom? Well what I have learned to understand amidst all these uncertainties is the value of appreciating the process of how to start and grow your business. Business and opportunities may come and go but what's most important to me now is the understanding that I can always pick myself up and start anew. For me, this ultimately is what financial freedom is all about. It's the confidence to know that I will not have to depend on a job no matter what path I choose. There will always be a business opportunity around the corner that we can capitalize on.
