His Story...
Isaac Campos Avila went home to his Creator on Sunday morning, August 30, 2009...he was 49 years old.

Born September 11, 1959, in San Fernando, CA -- to Crespin and Cruz Avila, Isaac was the youngest of five children.

As a small child, Isaac was very loving, kind and sociable...not to mention quick-witted and funny (Oh, those jokes!) -- characteristics that he kept throughout his life.

At the age of seven, Isaac picked up his first guitar. From the very first day that he strummed those strings, it became a love affair. He used to sleep with his guitar, and never let it go.

As a student at San Fernando High School, he was nominated by one of his school teachers to compete for a spot in the Los Angeles Choir for Mayor Tom Bradley. He competed and won his spot in the choir. Everyone in high school knew the talent that he had. Isaac quickly became a celebrity from this point on when he began to play in the high school noon concerts. He never failed to impress people with the talent he had and the heart of gold that he had to go along with it. His heart of gold is the reason why so many people loved him and will always love him.

Isaac lived his dream as a musician -- he was a "Tierra brother" for many years, which made him so happy. Isaac was in his element when he was performing for others. His legacy will live on by the music and the many memories he leaves behind. Isaac was a friend to all -- young and old. He was your friend, but he was our parent's son, our brother.

Isaac was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend; he was a husband, and father -- he was also a shinning star in his own right.

Isaac leaves behind his beautiful daughters -- Cassandra, Catrina, Christina, Corrine and Samantha. He is also survived by his mother Cruz, brothers Alex and Richard, sister Mary Helen and his wife Rachel.

Thank you for the memories, Isaac -- for your beautiful smile, your sense of humor, for your friendship and love, and for the generous gifts of song and music you gave to us throughout the years. But more importantly, thank you for being you. You will be missed. God bless you, and may you rest in peace.
