Hi friends!
A while back I told you Schmincke sent me pans and tubes. I've had these for a while now, and it's finally time to show them to you!
*** Here's a list of the colors ***
1. Cerulean blue hue - Fantastic, very bright - big like!
2. English Venetian Red - Beautiful. Very similar to their Burnt sienna, only a little redder.
3. Magenta - The one I've been using for a while. Great as a primary.
4. May Green - Never used such a green before. Looks like this one will be hard to mix, because it's super bright. I already started using it and it's beautiful and useful for highlights on trees.
5. Indian Red (Caput Mortuum) - One of my favs here. This one appears to be granulating. It created a lovely texture. This feels to me like a burnt kind of red, which I like.
6. Neutral Tint - Seems to be an ever-so-slightly warm gray. I'll have to play around with it a little to know if I like it.
7. Lemon Yellow - Very bright and light, not necessarily my favorite but I added it to my palette and will give it a shot (:
8. Indian Yellow - I LOVE this one, it's a yellow leaning towards orange, I'll definitely use it in the near future.
9. Permanent Green Olive - Another one I've been using for a while. Lately I found some more uses to it, and it's really handy to have from time to time, as long as you vary it using other colors (mainly blues, reds and yellows).
*** Primary Trio ***
I'm really curious about trying to build a primary set using:
1. Cerulean Blue Hue
2. Indian Red
3. Indian Yellow
This feels like it will have some interesting results.
Or, alternatively, I'll be happy to try the same, only replacing the Indian Red with the English Venetian Red.
I'll be sure to try these out in an upcoming video (:
Don't forget to look at the stats if you want to get some of these.
Regarding lightfastness, from my experience anything that's 3 and above (INCLUDING 3) should be good.
I hope you enjoyed this quick review and demo, and I'll see you again in the next vid!
