Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD follows the story of Aveline de Grandpré, the first playable female Assassin in the series. Set in 18th-century Louisiana during the French and Spanish colonial period, Aveline fights against Templar influence while protecting the people of New Orleans and the surrounding regions.

Raised as the daughter of a wealthy merchant, Aveline secretly joins the Assassin Brotherhood to battle the growing power of the Templar Order in the American colonies. As she uncovers a conspiracy threatening Louisiana, Aveline travels through bustling colonial cities, dangerous bayous, and hidden ruins while searching for the truth about her past and the mysterious disappearance of her mother.

A unique gameplay feature in Liberation is Aveline’s Persona System, allowing her to switch between three identities — the Assassin, the Lady, and the Slave — each providing different abilities, social advantages, and stealth strategies to complete missions.

Originally released for the PlayStation Vita and later remastered as Assassin's Creed Liberation HD, the game expands the Assassin’s Creed universe with new locations, characters, and a story deeply connected to the events surrounding Assassin's Creed III.
