"Ooo Baby Baby," Smokey Robinson Still Has IT! (April 26, 2024 Venetian Theater, Las Vegas, NV)

Smokey Robinson gave an emotional rendition of his enduring ballad, "Ooo Baby, Baby" before a sold-out Venetian Theater audience and by the end of the song, they responded with a a three minute standing ovation that brought Smokey Robinson to tears. I only captured some of that ovation because I thought that at the end of the song, the applause would cease after a few seconds but when it continued, I pressed record on my phone to capture the rest of the moment. At 84, Smokey still knows how to make the ladies swoon and his vocals easily takes you back to those days of the blue lights in the basement. Motown certainly not only knew how to make music that last forever but how to keep their entertainers timeless. Smokey, Stevie, Gladys and Diana Ross - when you got it, flaunt it!
