Stop Saying "Je suis faim!" 🛑 (How to Express Feelings in French)

Why does "Je suis faim" sound so wrong to a native French speaker? 🤔

One of the most common mistakes English speakers make is translating "I am..." directly into French. But in French, feelings like hunger, cold, and fear aren't who you are, they are temporary things you have!

In this quick lesson, we break down the logic behind using the verb Avoir (to have) instead of Être (to be) for feelings:
✅ "J'ai faim" = I have hunger
✅ "J'ai froid" = I have cold
✅ "J'ai peur" = I have fear
(Note: "Je suis fatigué(e)" works because tiredness is considered a state of being!)
