The DDC polls in Jammu and Kashmir were the first democratic exercise in the Union Territory since the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state. Polling was held over eight phases for 280 seats in 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, the People's Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration is leading in 103 of the 180 District Development Council seats up for election in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP has emerged as a principle opposition to the PAGD with leads on 75 seats followed by others on 66 seats, the Congress on 24 and J&K Apni Party on 10.
