Is it Time For Gennadiy Golovkin Vs. Jaime Munguia?

The possibility of a fight between Gennadiy Golovkin & Jaime Munguia has been in our minds since 2018. A little History.

Back in 2018, Gennadiy Golovkin stopped Vanes Martirosyan in 2 rounds at The Stub Hub Center (Now Dignity Health Park) in Carson California. Martirosyan was a replacement for Canelo Alvarez who had tested positive for clenbuterol. The positive test results were likely caused by food consumption and not an attempt to gain an advantage. It still delayed the rematch of a draw fought by Golovkin and Alvarez.
the first possible opponent for GGG was not Vanes Martirosyan it was a young still mostly unknown. He was The Ring Magazine Prospect Of The Year. Jaime Munguia.
It was decided that Munguia at the time was too young and did not have the experience. So Martirosyan a veteran who was on the US Olympic Boxing Team in 2004. Had held some Minor Tittles as a pro along with Challenging for World Championships got the fight with GGG.

While he has not yet taken anyone the level of Golovkin, Munguia has been facing some very solid opposition. Most recently Gabriel Rosado.

GGG still needs to beat Ryota Murata next month in Japan. It won't be an easy task, but I think he does. Outside of Golovkin going to Super Middleweight for a third Canelo fight. There is really no reason GGG vs. Munguia. can't or shouldn't happen.
