A fun couple hours softbaiting around the mussel farm

A few weeks ago while Stevo and I were on our far north trip we got to fish a spot we had been wanting to try for a very long time, stopping off at the mussel farm on our way back to the ramp we had a fun couple of hours softbaiting and catching some nice fish between the buoys. Over the past week or two we still couldn't get over how much fun it was so we hatched a plan to make a mad dash back up north for another bash in the farm.
We left early Sat morning and a few hours later we were back at the farm flicking out our softbaits, we would only get a couple of hours but if the fish were here like last time that's all we needed. Just like last time it felt super fishy and flicking around our softies on our first drift it was like we never left. Each drift produced a couple nice fish and those Zman pink Laguna shrimp were getting hammered once again. I don't do a lot of softbaiting but moving from the Gulp to Zman has helped my softbaiting a lot. The main thing I like about them so far is I have yet to lose a tail or even any part of it. Thinking of Gulp being swallowed by the fish nearly every time using them, it was awesome to see the Zman after each fish caught as though I had just put it on.
It was an awesome morning with some nice fish being caught on every drift and although there was a bit of wind and swell around the little fc430 lucky charm kept us on the fish the whole morning. It's always fun softbaiting when the fish are on the chew and we'll be back for a good ole bait'n berley bash next time.
Another awesome little Reel Kiwi Fishing adventure in the north with a mate and a few fish in the bin is always a bonus 👍
Tight lines
