OpenAI Gives Codex a Sites Feature - Dashboards and Web Apps Built From Your Notes

OpenAI just gave Codex a Sites feature - it turns your notes, plans, and analysis into a live, interactive website or app, shareable by URL. So Codex isn't just writing code anymore, it's shipping the whole product.

Sites is rolling out in preview to Business and Enterprise plans. Hand Codex your documents, ideas, or plans, and it builds dashboards, planners, review workspaces, project boards, or lightweight tools - hosted and ready to share via URL. It ships alongside Annotations for in-place editing, and six role-specific plugins covering 62 business apps from Snowflake to Salesforce.

That changes what 'AI coding' means for a business user. You no longer need a developer to turn an idea into a working internal tool - Codex handles the build and the hosting.

The partner list is the part worth noting - Wix, Base44, Replit, Lovable, Figma and Emergent are doing the hosting, despite several of them being direct competitors in the build-an-app space.

The line between using a tool and building a tool just got considerably thinner.
