To me, this song captures Arwen's fight.
Her father tells her to leave Middle Earth even after she clearly argues that isn't what she wants - and she is made to feel that she will be lost for the rest of her life and mad if she doesn't do as he has asked and leaves.
In regards to Aragorn, whilst his love for her is not in question, he too tells her to leave even though she has expressed her wish to stay. She gives him her Evenstar necklace as a clear expression of her desire to stay. Yet, she is also told to leave - she is made to believe that her choice to stay isn't the right one.
And yet, despite these two powerful loves of her life pushing her into a choice she doesn't want, she remains strong and fights back against what is being forced upon her - even if she is thought to be crazy for it.
That is why this is Arwen's song. Its about an incredibly strong woman remaining powerful even when everything turns against her.
