Eviction Moratorium Ending ... Eviction Nightmare Begins! - POSTPONED

The eviction moratorium ending was July 31, 2021, for most states, which means the eviction nightmare begins. What does this mean? Over the past year, rental prices have escalated due to the low supply of rental properties available for rent, caused by the eviction moratorium. With the eviction moratorium ending, tenants that are being evicted are going to have an extremely difficult time finding a new place to live resulting in an increase in homelessness and crime. Tenants looking for new residences to rent will discover rents are at an all-time high and of the rental properties that are available for rent, landlords are typically not interested in renting to tenants that have been evicted from their last residence for nonpayment of rent. With the millions of evictions that are expected to process through the court system in a relatively short period of time, it is also anticipated that the court system will back up quickly and evictions could take longer than expected. With the eviction moratorium ending, it is also anticipated that the number of properties going on the market will start increasing, which will also have an impact on the real estate market for buyers and sellers.
