Inclining Experiment for Ship Stability || Metacentric Height GM || Incline test on Ship
Hello! Viewers! Greetings! Welcome to YouTube Channel #ZQTECH. I hope all of you will be fit and fine by the grace of Almighty God Allah.
This video is part of ship stability. The basic of this video is the distance between the Center of Gravity of the ship and the Metacenteric point. Here is a brief explanation of the INCLINING EXPERIMENT.

This experiment serves as the purpose of determining the Metacentric Height, GM. Basically, GM is an important criterion in designing the ship. Usually, the value of GM is regulated between 0.5 to 8 m. Out this range will have negative effects on the overall design. So in the ship designing phase, GM value is evaluated on the basis of crude theoretical formulas. Albeit, when the ship is constructed entirely, then this inclining experiment is performed to determine the exact value of GM. Note that at the time of the experiment, the ship is unloaded i.e. no crew, cargo, tanks are empty, except ballast tanks. Keep watching @ ZQ TECH.
After construction of the ship, GM value could be settled by adjusting the weight of the ship so that center of gravity G could move
