A 45 | This is the impact of the bridge disaster

The Rinsdorf viaduct in Wilnsdorf near #Siegen has just been blown up. And this will be the fate of several of the 60 bridges on the A 45. One of the next to fall will be the #Rahmede valley bridge near Lüdenscheid, also by dynamite.

This will not be the last. On the 257-kilometre-long A 45, the #Sauerlandlinie, all 60 bridges have to be replaced. The Sauerlandlinie is the main connection between the Ruhr area and southern Germany. Because of the many bridge works, the A 45 is virtually a permanent construction site with immense consequences for the economy in the region and for the transport industry. #eurotransportTV was on site and spoke with many of those involved and suffering from the situation.
