Pirouette Shades by Hunter Douglas- CAUTION
Kempler Design of Reno Nevada installs many high-end custom window treatments. The Hunter Douglas Pirouette Shade is just one of them. The way that the product works can cause some issues for the overall look on your windows. The specific issue that this video focuses on, is the bottom panel.
If you are ordering side by side shades, Hunter Douglas suggests that you order the exact same length, to avoid the products looking very different next to one another. In the video, the heights of the windows are 3/8" different. Had we not ordered them the same height, the bottom panel, which is a non-moving fabric that is located directly above the bottom rail, can vary in height from 0" -5" If it was 5 " on one shade and 4 5/8" on the other, it wouldn't matter. But, if it was 5" on one and 3/8" on the other it would. In order to fill the almost 5" gap, they would have placed another pleated vane in that space. That means that one side would have one more louver than the other. I don't know any clients that would be satisfied if that was installed at their home.
Kempler Design takes great pride in providing the highest level of professionalism to their clients. This is just one example where we had a very technical decision to make, and we consulted with our clients to make sure that they understood what the choices were and why we should do things a certain way.
