We Got an Egg INSIDE a Bottle! | Sharon’s Super Science

Can we get an egg inside a bottle without pushing it? Spoiler — AIR did all the work!

Sharon’s back and this time we’re learning about air pressure. Watch what happens when we light a fire inside a bottle and put a hard-boiled egg on top. The egg gets PUSHED inside — no hands!

But wait… how do we get it back OUT? Sharon knows a trick. Stick around to see the egg pop right back out using the same science in reverse!

What you’ll need:
🔬 A peeled hard-boiled egg
🔬 A glass bottle (opening slightly smaller than the egg)
🔬 A small piece of paper
🔬 A match or lighter
⚠️ GROWN-UP HELP REQUIRED — this experiment uses fire!

What did we learn?

Fire heats the air inside the bottle. Hot air expands and some escapes. When the fire goes out, the air cools and shrinks. Now there’s more air pressure OUTSIDE the bottle than inside — so the air pushes the egg IN! To get it out, blow extra air into the bottle and now the pressure inside is stronger — POP!
