Seiko Prospex SPB145 & SPB149 Watch Review: 62MAS Re-Issue | aBlogtoWatch

Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch reviews the Seiko Prospex SPB145 and SPB149, two watches that are part of a new collection from the Japanese brand re-imagining their first-ever dive watch, the 1965 62MAS. The taupe-dialed SPB145 is a boutique special edition, while the blue-dialed SPB149 is available as a limited release of 5,500 pieces. Two other references are also available, the grey-dial SPB143 and the SPB147 with a gilt dial. All versions share the same 40.5mm stainless steel case (approximately 48mm lug-to-lug), crisp unidirectional rotating bezel, and 200m water resistance rating. Inside is the in-house Seiko 6R35 movement which operates at 3Hz and offers 70 hours of power reserve. The SPB145 and SPB149 as reviewed here both come on a three-link oyster-style bracelet featuring a two-button butterfly clasp. Pricing for the boutique-edition SPB145 is $1,200 USD and the limited-edition SPB149 is $1,350.
