King Brussels are worth the wait!
Brussels sprouts crop for a long period through winter. Then, towards the end of winter, you notice they are not growing so big, while the top of the plant folds inwards.
At this point, it makes a delicious harvest.
You could cut and eat these tops before the end of winter, but this would stop the plants developing new Brussels sprouts. One snag in waiting is pigeon damage - they like them too!
This was filmed 20th February at Homeacres in Somerset, UK, by Edward Dowding.
