Myth number 8: I’m too old or too young for cosmetic eyelid surgery

One of the most common maths that patients have is that the determination of whether they are a candidate for blepharoplasty is determined their age or a number. The most common determinant of whether someone is a good candidate for eyelid surgery is determined by their expectations, the amount of skin and fat they have on their eyelid, their medical history, their eye history and a Frank discussion with their oculoplastic surgeon. There is no hard number that determines whether you are a good or bad candidate. In my office in Denver where I see hundreds of eyelid patients every month I let them know that everyone is different and each person needs a careful individualised evaluation.
