Acapella Bass Compilation | C2 - C1
Some of the most well known acapella bass singers out there with some of their most notable notes compiled together. I wanted to included only good quality notes, so no “reached” or accidental notes were counted.
Featuring:
Avi Kaplan
Matt Sallee
Tim Foust
Adam Chance (yes I know he sings baritone for home free but he more than qualifies as a bass for this compilation)
Geoff Castellucci
Elliott Robinson
Joe Santoni
Questionable notes:
Avi:
Fried Eb1 - poor quality fry. Not countable
Rose gold fried D1 - too brief to be counted
Change on the rise C1 - not produced by Avi
Matt:
Housetop G#1 - too brief to be counted and poor quality. I’m not entirely sure it is a G#1 either
G#1 slides - too brief to be counted
G1 slides - too brief to be counted
Not sure they reach G#/G anyway
Chance:
G#1 in the video - was a bit sceptical of this. Feel like it could be reverb from the kick. Left it in as it’s credited on his thread on TRP - usually a credible site
F#1 slide - too brief to be counted. Not sure it even reaches F#1
Geoff:
Eb1 growl slides - poor quality and too brief to be counted
D1 growl slides - poor quality and too brief to be counted
POTO D1 - probably produced by studio effects
Mr. Blue Sky D1 - not too sure what goes on with this note. Raised an octave up it sounds like it mixes with chest fry towards the bottom, but I think he most likely growls from D2-D1 with air EQd out. Probably too brief to be counted. Left it out as I’m not really sure what goes on and I wouldn’t say it’s countable anyway.
Boy Bands sub D1 - too brief to be counted and probably unintentional
Oogie Boogie low growls - produced by Layne’s lip buzz
Growl old with you D1/C#1 - produced reverb from Layne’s kick. Geoff only sings an A1
Oogie boogie C#1 - I’m not entirely sure if the C#1 is naturally produced. Strangely artificial sounding. I know it’s meant to be octaves layered but something seems a bit off with it. I know Geoff replies to a comment regarding it, but he didn’t exactly explain that he sang a C#1 and he didn’t specify a register, and I’m still confused about it so I left it out because I wasn’t really sure what to do with it and didn’t feel like it warranted an inclusion, especially given the confusion surrounding it.
C#1 growl slides - poor quality and too brief to be counted
C1 growl slides - poor quality and too brief to be counted
Warriors sub C1 - probably produced with an octave drop
Warriors sub B0 - B0 is below C1. Also read above.
Elliott:
C#1 - poor quality fry. Not countable
Joe:
D1 slide - not sure it reaches D1. Could be artificially produced. Too brief to be countable regardless.
No doubt I made a mistake somewhere, please let me know anything I got wrong.
Sorry for the crappy quality of the thumbnail
Thanks to CF for helping with Joe Santoni
I would’ve liked to have included Jules Cruz and Tuukka Haapaniemi but I didn’t know enough about them, and I didn't have the time to note watch their stuff. Sorry.
I don’t own any of the videos, music or pictures. Sue me.
