Today we use the marvelous whip and tongue graft to take a bad pear tree and turn it into a multi-variety tree, adding on Moonglow, Pineapple and Bartlett pear scion wood.
Grafting fruit trees is really easy and you don't need special grafting tools. Just a pair of pruners, some flagging tape and a razor knife. In this video we're grafting a pear tree with astringent fruit and adding on scions from great pear trees.
