Perspective on Purity Culture - Trauma, Rape Culture, Shame and Guilt

Christian conservative purity culture contributed significantly to the trauma that I experienced and I am a firm believer that it causes severe damage to those who are subjected to it. It plays a crucial piece in widespread victim blaming and lifelong shame and guilt. What is purity culture?

Can it really be that harmful? Why would something so innocent sounding so heavily promote rape culture? Here are my (perhaps too passionate…) thoughts on the matter and why I believe it contributes heavily to trauma and abuse – please note that I have not even scratched the surface on this issue. There are many more facets that need to be explored and will be addressed in upcoming videos.
