Into the mystic: lyrics video (song meaning)

(To my visually impaired friends - I don't know if your nowadays gadgets can also read words on a moving background. If it can, the lyrics are at 6 - bottom and middle of screen. Background is a stunning sunset over the ocean. The clouds reflecting in silver, purples, oranges, gold and pinks in the wet sand. With Love from the Cape. )

Only in my dreams, have I seen the Ocean more beautiful !

- "Into the Mystic" is written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It featured on his 1970 album, "Moondance". It was also included on Morrison's 1974 live album, "It's Too Late to Stop now" - (Wikipedia)

Morrison explained how the use of homophones lent the song alternate meanings:
- "Originally I wrote it as 'Into the Misty'." He continues, "...really the song has two sets of lyrics. For example, 'I was born before the wind' and 'I was borne before the wind'; 'ALSO younger than the sun, Ere the bonny boat was ONE' and 'ALL SO younger than the SON, Ere the bonny boat was WON' " -(Wikipedia)

My interpretations:
1. As many Morrison's songs, this one could be about his spiritual journey. Himself being on the boat of life in search of the (spiritual) meaning behind life, about spiritual growth/awakening etc.
2. Morrison himself said, "I guess the song is just about being part of the universe."
This could refer to oneness of everyone with everything that is and was and will be. As in, each individual is one with everything in the present, past, future and beyond.
Maybe it could even refer to, oneness with what's beyond the experience of us as a human body - the experience of the Soul as part of The Greater Consciousness.
What springs to mind is - All rivers flow into one ocean, where each individual represents a river. Whilst, the ocean represents the Oneness of everyone, referred to as the Collective Consciousness. Including, the Collective Oneness with The Greater Consciousness. (Called God by many. Also Universe, The Infinite One, Jehovah, Jesua, Jesus, Allah, etc.)
3. If the ocean is a metaphor for our emotional body, it could suggest that he retreated into his own heart space, in search of his own healing and own truth. All part of the journey of awakening.
4. The secret meaning:
Morrison didn't explicitly explain the hidden meaning. He only admitted that the song has different meanings.
It seems possible that, at the time, he was very much in love with a girl from his past, possibly from his hometown. He felt that they're soulmates and that their destinies to be intertwined.
He was separated from her. Probably in another country. However, with Van Morrison's outlook on life as a spiritual awakening experience, it's quite possible that he needed solitude, for inner healing/spiritual growth. It's possible, that he deliberately pulled himself away from her and their love, for a while. It probably went on longer than he'd thought he'll need.

With this song, he is assuring the girl (the "brown eyed girl"? https://youtu.be/UfmkgQRmmeE ) of his infinite love and that he will be with her one day, and soon. That, for him, she embodies home. (The home is where the heart is.)
He also tells her to be free, to enjoy her life to the fullest while he's away.
He asks her to be observant to the signs Universe presents. When she sees/hears the sign (foghorn whistle) he'll be on his way.
He is always going to come to her, home. For him it's inevitable - they will be together, in this life or the next.
He's for sure expressing his desire for her and he's fantasies for when they meet again - "I wanna rock your gypsy soul". This refers to both sexual and soul intimacy and union.
I think he knew that in order to be at one with another, you 1st need to feel unity within yourself (accept and love yourself).
Lastly, it feels that he wanted to rock her world, to make her proud of what he accomplished on his own.

Van Morrison’s message through life: "Never forget what we know to be true. Never forget, what we cherished, what we feared, what destroyed us, what made us, what divided us, what drew us together."
