Duplicating 2 Buggy Seats | 2 Seat Buggy Rebuild Part 10 | Engels Coach Shop
A new set of seat irons is needed to build the second seat on this 2 seat buggy restoration. One original buggy seat was left and a second seat needs to be produced, using the original as a pattern. Some of the original irons were cast and since those castings are no longer available, I will forge duplicate irons to give the same flavor of style and function, even though they will not be exact replicas. Value of the finished buggy often dictates how much investment is reasonable when deciding just how exacting the restoration can be. Building and restoring horse drawn vehicles often involves working through many value systems to come to the finished results.
