Writing an ARCTIC MONKEYS Song
Writing an ARCTIC MONKEYS Song | One Man Bands Episode 4
Welcome back one and all! Hope you're doing good, this week we're writing a song inspired by Arctic Monkeys!
On Monday I covered their tune "R U Mine" which you can watch here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-67SS-R0BZY
This is the first viewer requested video so I hope it lives up to expectations! Thankfully I've been a long time listener of Arctic Monkeys so I knew immediately the things I wanted to add into this song. It ended up essentially being a journey through the evolution of the band's sound; but I'm happy with it!
If you just want to skip straight to the song it is at 17:39
CYCLONE - LYRICS
I think you might just have another agenda
A silver bullet just to help me remember
That I'm about as useful as a pool by the sea
Not necessarily an unpleasant feature
But you got options and they know how to reach ya
If you're in a bathing suit then I wanna be the chlorine
The only word on the street
Is to go home and rest your feet
But please try to be discrete
About the way that you invite attention with your ivories
Be careful with who you know
'Cos they've got time to let their feelings grow
You're biting your sheets at home
You're a glass of Smirnoff shy of starting the cyclone
You're bringing on the cyclone
Who you looking at and why ain't it me?
Text me when you're tipsy baby, not when you're free
Those thumbs are tapping faster than you're able to speak
I'm the only one to send and never receive
I'm dealing with the queen of hearts
A two-faced dodgy territory who can't tell friend from enemy
So sip your pink gin carefully
Before you live regretfully
You're bringing on the cyclone
You're bringing on the cyclone
Why be skin deep when you can dive into us?
We've got the time apart to right all the wrongs
Share your reflection, your collection of thongs
Who needs the internet when you're in my phone
Can't risk answering your calls when I'm not alone
Is this a connection or a hormone cyclone?
I'm dealing with the queen of hearts
A two faced dodgy territory who can't tell friend from enemy
So sip your pink gin carefully
Before you live regretfully
I think you might just have another agenda
A silver bullet just to help me remember
That I'm about as useful as a pool by the sea
Not necessarily an unpleasant feature
But you got options and they know how to reach ya
If you're in a bathing suit then I wanna be the chlorine
The only word on the streets
Is to go home and rest your feet
But please try to be discrete
About the way that you invite attention with your ivories
You're bringing on the cyclone
