What is Gesso Used For?
So what is gesso and what is it used for? Basically, gesso is a liquid primer for canvas. Gesso creates a binder for the acrylic paint to adhere. Also known as tooth. The right prep makes a world of difference when painting on canvas. Although times have changed since the original gesso was made way back when the Masters of Art like Picasso and the like used it. The concepts for using Gesso remains constant.
