Victorians continue to be ‘drip fed and strung along’ by Andrews

Victorians have been “drip fed and strung along” by Premier Daniel Andrews for so long and it’s resulted in wide-spread despair, according to Victorian Shadow Health Minister Georgie Crozier.

Victorians were initially told by the premier that if the rolling 14-day average overnight infections dropped below five, then hospitality and retail would reopen.

The rolling 14-day average did drop below five on Sunday, but the premier did not loosen restrictions based on the cluster in northern Melbourne.

“To come out yesterday and the letdown was enormous, and the despair, and the white-hot anger amongst the community amongst the business community, it was palpable,” Ms Crozier said.

“It demonstrated that there was little faith in the contact tracing methodology and systems that they have in place.

“The wider community is suffering because the government’s inability to do what they should be able to do.”
