Now when it comes to strapping down a motorcycle into a trailer, it really is not exactly an easy feat. A lot of times you're gonna be using a lot of ratchet straps to balance that bike out and no matter how tight you get it, you're always looking back there wondering if that bike is toppling over and something like an enclosed trailer, you're really not gonna know until you stop unfortunately. So having a nice easy way to get a bike attached safely and be able to go down the road with peace of mind is what the B&W Biker Bar offers and that's what we're gonna be taking a look today. And that way if you have something like a Harley Road Glide or even a Sportster like we have, I'm gonna show you how to get this installed. It's gonna make it super easy in a nice, clean, secure way to get your bike attached safely on your trailer and down the road. Now the Road Glide that we have here today is not a small bike, it comes in at about 850 pounds.
And so really when it comes to ratchet, strapping down, even if you have E-Track on the floor, again, you are making sure that it doesn't teeter. And a lot of times you are gonna, you know, have it on its kickstand over, but this keeps the bike upright so you get the most amount of space, you're not losing anything by having that bike tip and it's gonna be nice and secure. Now there are gonna be a few steps involved to get your bike safely latched into place, but really I think it still beats the amount of time spent putting ratchet straps down and peace of mind alone, this is a really solid product. It comes from B&W, which you've probably heard the name. If you've ever looked at any towing components, whether it be 5th wheels or Goosenecks, B&W is one of the leaders, they're fit and finish and just overall heavy duty quality is bar none.
And this is no different. This is their offering for motorcycles. Believe a lot of the people that work there are some motorcycle fans and they've designed these for a number of different bikes and really it comes down to getting a bar to clamp down onto the frame and from there you get your latch system all set up, you drive it into place and it latches in. And also getting it disconnected to get the bike off the trailer is super easy and it comes with a little bit of adjustability depending on your bike. But if you adjust it correctly, it's right in a nice spot where you can get your feet on here to unlatch it and roll your bike back.
For unlatching, super easy. Again, if you dial it in to where you can get your feet in place, you'll have a latch that's gonna be similar on both sides. So the smaller, you know, you have the serrations in that for a nice grip, that's gonna be your first lock that you press. And if you can kind of do it in a one fashion, that's gonna unlock it, you'll get both sides unlatched and you're loose. And as far as getting your bike back in place and latched up, you'll just get your biker bar attached onto the frame, crank that down until the washer flattens out, try to keep this in an upward fashion, that way it's kind of out the way and giving you ground clearance.
You'll then take your bike, drive it into place, it should already be unlatched and once in place that's gonna auto latch in and you're ready to go. Now adding to the peace of mind if you don't have an enclosed trailer or if you're worried about people, you're loosening this up and your bike falling off, whatever it may be, you can stop that from happening. You can see that we have holes on our latches that will go to the frame here as well as ones on our handle. So you can put a padlock through there and that's gonna give you added security. So again, your bike's gonna be safe going down the road, but also if someone gets into your trailer, they're gonna have a little bit more of a deterrent to get through than being able to just roll your bike off. Now you're latched in place, but a few other things that you're want to do before hitting the road and also while out on the road are gonna be making sure that it's gonna be stable. So this should already be pretty tight, but once it's latched in, just give it another quarter turn. Generally should be good and that's gonna be solid there. We'll take our handlebars, we're gonna kind of wiggle 'em back and forth, make sure that everything's nice and secure and everything seems nice and solid there. Few ot
