Ep02: Going Solar with UPS Solar | Custom Shelving!

Well, we finally decided after nearly 2 years of researching, quotes, and more researching, to take the plunge and add a Solar PV battery system to our house. But wait, there's more! We also plan to add a Solar Diverter so we can electrically heat our hot water instead of gas.

This time we modify the battery rack to cope with the weight of the battery packs. This is only a light weight studio rack and the supplied brackets are not suitable.

Spec of the system we hope to install (contract signed, pending installation):
18 panels - 12 panels on the West roof, 6 panels on the East roof
Batteries - 3 x 2500 mAh lithium cells in a modular 19" rack format (Fox ESS)
5 kW hybrid inverter from Fox ESS
Emergency Power System to allow us to run off-line
Eddi Solar Diverter for hot water
