The current battery on a Tesla lasts about 300,000 miles but Tesla has always been looking to improve this with Elon Musk, the founder, constantly talking about a million-mile battery.

To make this possible, Elon explained their plan to triple their battery output capacity in the next two years. This would bring their capacity to a staggering 100 gigawatt hours while reducing the cost of production.

Elon Musk also said that they plan to build their own factories rather than relying on their current supplier, Panasonic. In turn, this would make battery production cheaper by bringing the price per kilowatt hour down by 56 percent.

Unfortunately in the recent Tesla Battery Day held a few months ago, Tesla did not mention anything regarding the million mile battery.
