Lyrics adapted and inspired from Mother Teresa's Letters to Archbishop Perier in 1946 & 1947 which can be found in the book "Mother Teresa - Come be My Light: The Revealing Private Writings of the Nobel Peace Prize Winner" By Brian Kolodiejchuk. In these writings Mother Teresa explains her experiences of God calling her to evangelise the poor of India.
The first half of the hymn is essentially God speaking to her and the second is her response.

Come Be My Light - Mother Teresa Hymn (Saint Teresa of Kolkata)
Come, follow Me
Leave all and gather the few
Come, live My Life
Will you refuse? Will you refuse?
Come, carry Me into the dark of the poor
Come be My Light, come be My Love.
Come, carry Me into the darkest of homes
Come be My Light, come be My Light.
Lord, I am unworthy
This, I feel is beyond me
Lord, I am afraid.
Is it me that you choose? Me that you choose?
Lord, send me your Spirit, I am poor
Lord give me light, Lord I am small.
Lord help me to trust in You, I’m afraid
Lord give me light, teach me Your Will.
Be not afraid, my little one
Do not grow cold, I am with you
Be My Fire of love, be My Fire of love.
