Bank of Canada holds interest rate at 5%, gives no hints on cuts
In its first 2024 financial update, the Bank of Canada announced it's maintaining its key interest rate at 5 per cent. Governor Tiff Macklem says Canada has made some progress on slowing inflation but did not offer a timeline for when interest rates might come down.
