Live from Washington DC after attack near US Capitol leaves 2 dead

Ruptly is live outside the US Capitol in Washington DC after a lockdown was enforced by police on Friday, April 2, following an attack close to the building barricades that left two people, including a police officer, dead.

A law enforcement representative confirmed the news during a press briefing, saying the suspect and a US Capitol Police officer had both died.

According to the police, the incident currently "does not appear to be terrorism-related" but further investigation would follow.
