Whether it's the pushing his voice to various extremes or moving around stage and simultaneously controlling the beat it's obvious that what you see is what you get with Sam Perry - a strong performer who is passionate about his art. I think that is more true than ever in this song than his previous tracks due to the emotional theme of the song. Though it begins rather upbeat, it never feels like a completely happy feeling song. It's only by the second half of the song though, when the background beat evaporates, the audience moving close and crowding around the stage that Sam, at his most vulnerable, sings about a girl and exposes just how true of a performer he is and how much heart he really puts into his music.
