This Day In History: Reggae Star, Bob Marley Died At 36

On this day in 1981, Reggae star Bob Marley, real name Nesta Robert Marley died aged 36, as a result of cancer complications that had spread from a leg injury to his brain, liver and lungs, he passed on this day, in a hospital in Miami Florida.

Marley was known for hits such as “I Shot The Sheriff”, “Three little birds", "Redemption song", "Waiting in vain", and many others, all released in the 70’s and early 80’s.

He was born in 1945 in Jamaica. Bob Marley and his band, The Wailers, were able to bring the reggae genre to a world stage and really paved the road for new artists and also here in Nigeria with the likes of Ras Kimono, Majek Fashek, Yellow man and others.
