🚨 Governor Meyer’s New Gun Office Governor Meyer recently celebrated the creation of a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention — but take a look at who was standing beside him at the signing of the executive order: • Coalition for a Safer Delaware (officially named at signing) • Everytown for Gun Safety (officially named at signing) • End Community Violence Now (ECVN) (officially named at signing) • Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence (cited as a supportive partner post-signing) As many of you know, these are national organizations that have poured into Delaware to strike down Second Amendment rights and push the narrative that firearms are to blame for all gun violence. Visit the websites for groups like Moms Demand Action or the Coalition for a Safer Delaware and you’ll see their focus is almost entirely on restricting the purchase of firearms — with little to no mention of other proven ways to reduce violence, such as addressing mental health or strengthening community supports. This is not about a balanced, comprehensive approach. Instead, it’s an effort by the Governor’s office to make it look like they’re tackling gun violence — while in reality handing the reins to special interests. And if these groups are the ones guiding this office today, we can be sure that tomorrow it will be the Office of Gun Prevention itself driving their agenda to chip away at our constitutional rights.
