Gavin Newsom vows to tax '100%' of Trump's $1.7B payout from DOJ case

Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, has stated that any California resident that receives payment from President Trump's $1.7B 'anti-weaponization fund' will be 100 percent taxed.

Originally, Trump was suing the IRS for $10 billion for leaking Trump family tax documents, but the case was dropped, and what remains is a questioned payout and the ethics of the suit entirely, as Trump is the head of the organization he is suing.

Lawmakers in New York align with Newsom as a vote is planned to take place next week to fully tax the large payout as well.
