Remembrance Day : How Buhari, Osinbajo, Saraki, Dogara, Onnoghen Lay Wreaths For Fallen Heroes

The 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day climaxed with a Wreath Laying Grand Finale at the National Arcade in Abuja on today, with members of the Armed Forces and the Diplomatic Corps paying respect to the fallen heroes.
The event commenced with prayers offered for the repose of souls of those who died in active service by clerics from the Christian and Islamic faith.
Prayers were also offered for their family members and the onward protection of members of the Armed Forces including those at the front line of battles ,a minute silence was held in honour of the fallen heroes.
The President and Commander – in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari led the government delegation to perform the Wreath Laying Ceremony.
It was the fourth time President Buhari as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces was laying the wreath in a democratic setting.
The event witnessed the attendance of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, Hon Min of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, Minister of FCT, Mohammed Bello, National Security Adviser, Maj Gen Babagana Muguno (rtd), Members of the Military Widows Association, National President of NAOWA, Hajia U.K Buratai and a host of other dignitaries.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an annual event organised to honour soldiers who died during the 1st and 2nd World War, the Nigerian Civil War and those fighting insurgency.
